Dr NO.

‘Dr NO’ A James Bond character Novel authored by Ian Fleming (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ian_Fleming)  in 1958 was brought to life in form of movie ‘Dr NO’  (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0055928/ ) starring the Legendary Sean Connery and the very goddess of beauty in those days Ms Ursula Andress

Great!!! So you might just think this is a review narration of some old movie flick. No…dear I just want to use the term ‘Dr NO’.

Anna Hazare is fasting against corruption. Almost the entire nation in some way or the other is supporting him. Young and old have staged demonstrations, parades etc etc etc…

But a very few know that the basis of corruption is not a corrupt official but we as a citizen. We have created a corrupt system.

Remember a story where in a mother is cursing her only son who has been jailed for a serious crime of murder and theft and would be hanged shortly. Hearing her abuses, the son gives a hard slap to his very own mother. He says “you should have slapped me then when I committed my first petty theft; it is you who cajoled me and covered my ill deeds time to time. This gave me encouragement that I could do more such crimes. Today you have no right to curse me”.

The same phenomenon applies to all of us. We incubate corruption. The one who supports or instigates crime is a greater criminal than the criminal himself. I will not get into the basics of everyday corruption that we sometimes indulge in as it is for us to retrospect our inner self. We have been a part of corruption sometime or other. So we are all corrupt.

Now as we have been sort of awakened out of our long COMA on Corruption by Annaji, let us make this as a habit of not only being non-corrupt but also non tolerant to any crime happening in our society. How can we do it?

Dr NO is the answer.

Since the times we all remember, apart from GOD itself, a Doctor is a known person who can salvage or also create a Life. ‘NO’ as a term we all know for what we use for. So ‘Dr NO’ for me is a term for salvaging a life or society by simply saying ‘NO’

Let us all humans be Dr NO towards corruption or any other misdeed in our society and let us see what all we can do as Dr NO:
1) As Dr NO we are licensed by our heart and mind to say no to corruption as well as any wrong doing in the society.
2) Dr NO will never be a silent spectator or turn a blind eye to crimes but will be a warrior against it.
3) Dr NO as an ordinary citizen will uphold moral laws of the society but will not become a slave to certain dictates of the so called government that violates the basic rights of its people.
4) Dr NO is not only a warrior against crime of any type but a crusader to prevent it.
5) Dr NO will spare time for the downtrodden sector of the society where most if the times an innocent life is evolved into being a criminal.
6) Dr NO will be voice, ears and sight for all those who cannot do so against the injustice meted out to them.
7) Dr NO will be responsible for getting the right candidate to represent itself at all levels of government so as to have a transparent, non corrupt and really citizen caring statutory body of representatives.

Well…All mentioned above are just a few actions we as Dr NO can take….there can be many more. I am sure you can suggest many more.

However, being Dr NO is not easy but I think it is much simpler than to FAST unto DEATH for fellow citizens for their benefit. ANNA says NA NA to Corruption…We Can at least be ‘Dr NO’
